Under a new federal proposal, Debbie Stultz-Giffin and other people with prescriptions for medical marijuana would no longer be allowed to grow their own drug or have someone do it for them.
Instead, they would have to buy their pot from a federally registered grower. Those companies would sell it for $8.80 cents a gram, far above the current range of $1.80 to $5.

While growing hydroponically dates back to the hanging gardens of Babylon, the term “Hydroponics” was first used in the 1930’s to describe the growing of plants with roots submerged in water with mineral salts. The word is a combination of the Greek words for water and work, literally “working with water”. Since the 30’s the definition of hydroponics has expanded to describe any form or gardening without soil, or in a soilless mix.
An experienced home tomato grower notices that a number of her plants are looking sad. The leaves on the lower part of the plant have turned yellow between the veins, she knows she must do something quickly or risk losing her entire crop. After doing some research on the internet, the grower finds pictures of a tomato with a magnesium deficiency that matches her plants. Using a few tablespoons of Epsom salts dissolved in water and a spray bottle, the grower sprays the plants. A couple of days later the tomatoes have green healthy leaves again. The growers problems appear to have been miraculously solved , but have they?
